Step 1: From your Shopify admin, go to Discounts.
Step 2: From the Discounts page, click Create discount.
Step 3: In the Discount code section, enter a name for the new discount code (for example, 15OFFSMARTBundle). If you want to generate a random discount code then click Generate code. Avoid using special characters in your discount names so that your discount names add correctly to your store's checkout URL.
Step 4: In the Options section, select the discount type that you want to create. Enter a monetary or percentage value for the discount in the Discount value box. On my case, I want to offer 15% off entire order.
Step 5: In the Applies to section, select what this discount will apply to: Entire order, Specific collections, or Specific products. Collections can't hold individual product variants. If you add a product variant to a discounted collection, then the discount applies to every version of the product.
Step 6: If you want to set a minimum requirement for the discount, then select one in the Minimum requirements section. I'll set the "Minimum purchase amount"= $77 because I want to be applied to orders greater than $77. This means if someone will delete an item from the cart and the amount from the cart will be lower than $77 then the Discount Code will be erased automatically.
Step 7: I want this offer available for all my store's customers so in the Customer eligibility section I'll select Everyone.
Step 8: If you want to limit discount usage, then check one of the options in the Usage limits section:
- Limit number of times this discount can be used in total lets you set a total number of times a discount can be used. For example, setting a limit of 100 allows the discount code to be used 100 times across your customer base. If you choose this setting, then customers can use the discount multiple times.
- Limit to one per customer tracks customer emails to limit discount use to one per customer.
I Don't want to setup any usage limitation so I'll won't change anything inside this field.
Step 9: Use the calendar in the Active dates section to set the start date for the discount. If you want to set an end date for the discount, then click Set end date and use the calendar to choose when the discount will end. If you don't choose an end date for your discount, then it will have no expiry. If you want the discount to be valid for only one day, then select the same calendar day for both the start date and the end date. My Discount code will have no expiry so I won't change anything here.
Step 10: Click Save discount. You're done, now you can use this Discount Code to create a Discount Upsell
